There is something about this particular point in the year that always feels fragile.
We are not fully in spring.
It could still snow.
There could still be icy mornings and hard ground.
And yet…
The light is different.
This weekend we did something we have both been putting off for months — we cleared and sorted the garage. It wasn’t glamorous. It was dusty, overdue, slightly chaotic… but it happened under blue sky and actual warmth. The kind of warmth that makes you roll your sleeves up rather than hunch your shoulders.
It felt like winter loosening its grip.
Alongside that, I’ve:
- Changed the bedding,
- Cleaned out the fridge,
- Opened windows,
- Shifted things that have been sitting untouched.
Not dramatic gestures. Just small acts of readiness.
Spring cleaning isn’t really about dust.
It’s about permission to begin again.

The Full Moon Art Card
This month’s Art Card for the Turning Year arrived quietly through that same energy.
An owl, silhouetted against a large yellow moon.
Perched. Watching. Waiting.
The owl feels like the guardian of the threshold —
not rushing forward, not retreating back into winter.
Simply present.
This full moon feels less like culmination
and more like transition.
A moment of noticing:
- What needs clearing,
- What needs releasing,
- What is ready to grow.
The Practice
The Art Cards for the Turning Year are not about perfection.
They are about attention.
This one was created through an experimental intaglio process —
a small handmade plate printed with hand pressure and thoughtful care.

There were test pulls.
There was adjustment.
There was learning.
But that feels fitting for this moon.
Because this time of year is experimental, too.
We try opening the windows.
We try reorganising the space.
We try stepping outside without a coat.
Some days it works.
Some days winter reminds us it isn’t finished yet.
Intention for This Moon
This full moon carries a gentle intention:
To pause at the edge of the seasons
and observe without rushing.
This feels right for a moment when the days are softening
but winter still has presence in the air.
For me, that has looked like:
- small practical tasks, completed,
- clearing out neglected corners,
- noticing what is ready to shift.
Small rituals.
Practical magic.
Words on the Back of the Card
Intention
To pause at the edge of the seasons
and observe without rushing.
Practice
Make space.
Move something on.
Welcome the light.
Full Moon – Turning Year
If you are following along with the Turning Year practice, take a moment tonight to notice:
What is winter still holding onto?
And what is already beginning to soften?
