The final week before Christmas has its own kind of energy — bright, busy, a little chaotic, and full of lists. So I like to balance it with small, soothing, handmade moments that help me slow down and reconnect with the season.
Nothing complicated.
Nothing overwhelming.
Just simple, colourful makes that bring joy into the final days of December.
For my last blog post of 2025, I’m sharing a fresh set of quick, festive projects from my archive — perfect for last-minute bursts of creativity. Whether you’re decorating your home, adding handmade touches to gifts, or simply craving a moment of calm, these are beautiful, easy makes to enjoy.
Here are some of my favourite cosy crafts you can do even in the busiest week.
✨ 1. Party Crown
A joyful, playful project perfect for Christmas Day or festive gatherings.
Bright colours, quick assembly, and full of personality.
✨ 2. Button Christmas Tree
One of the quickest festive makes — ideal for using up spare buttons and turning them into a sweet decoration.
✨ 3. Napkin Ring
A tiny, elegant make that adds a handmade touch to your Christmas table.
Fast, simple, and very satisfying.
✨ 4. Paper Lantern
Soft, glowing, atmospheric — perfect for windowsills or cosy corners.
A beautifully calming craft.
✨ 5. PomPom Wreath
Bright, soft, cheerful — a great project for using leftover yarn and a lovely way to add colour to your home.
✨ 6. Felt Holly Garland
A charming, festive make that adds warm handmade texture to mantels, shelves, or doorways.
✨ 7. DIY Gift Bag
A longer-standing favourite from your channel — handmade, reusable, charming, and perfect for elevating even the simplest gifts.
✨ 8. Mini Woolly Hat
Utterly adorable and brilliantly quick.
Great as tiny ornaments, gift-toppers, or strung together as a whimsical garland.
🎁 Why These Makes Are Perfect for the Week Before Christmas
They’re fast, joyful, and achievable — a handmade antidote to the rush of the season.
Each small make creates a moment of calm, a pause, a breath.
Sometimes creativity is the thing that slows us down long enough to notice the beauty around us.
